Salem Ridge - Ladies Golf League
Welcome to the 2010 Salem Ridge Ladies Golf League!
( located at The Deer Creek Academy )
Hello Ladies!
Spring is in the air, well that is after this week’s cold front passes through.
I would like to wish you all much health and happiness in 2010!
We will once again be hosting 3 Ladies Leagues this year: Monday Evening, Thursday Morning, and Thursday Evening. I have taken into account everyone’s suggestions for making 2010 even bigger and better than 2009, and hope that you’re all as excited as we are here at The Deer Creek Academy about the upcoming 2010 golf season. .
We have made many changes in the format to the Monday PM League, as well as Thursday PM league so please read your registration form carefully. The objective of our League shall be to promote the game of Golf and create a League of friendly yet relatively competitive companionship for amateur players of all ability within The Deer Creek Academy.
Some important dates to keep in mind for 2010:
- Guaranteed same tee time as 2009. Registrations and payment must be received by February 28, 2010. (all 4 members of your group must be returning to guarantee this. If not the open spots may be opened to existing members wishing to be moved, or new members who have paid in full.)Please keep in mind we are changing to a 9 miniute tee time interval for 2010, so there will be some slight changes to your tee time.
- March 1st- March 7th 2010, returning league members who wish to change their tee time will be given the option to do so, prior to opening the tee sheet to new registrants.
Please note: due to the overwhelming demand in last year’s leagues, we will be opening up the tee sheet at 4:00pm , instead of 5:00pm. We will give any returning member first rights to these new time slots, based on receipt of registration with payment. Registrations will be dated and numbered upon their receipt in order to ensure fairness to all league members.
- There will be 1 Scramble Tournament held Week #6, in which the Deer Creek Academy will provide you with a BBQ dinner; or lunch in the case of the Thursday AM League. This allows you to meet other members of your league in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Minimum participation for this event is required.
- Holiday Mondays – golf will be optional with the opportunity to make the game up any time prior to the following Monday. The makeup scores from these dates will be included in the standings.
- Week #17 includes the option of golfing at Deer Creek South with a $25 green fee. ( subject to availability at DCS)
- “ Balls for BOOBS” (formally known as Think Pink Week) , in honor of Anne MacDonald will be our Week #8 event, stay tuned for more details. As always we are looking for great ideas or donations to make this event even bigger and better than in 2009 !
Due to the recent announcement that green fees will now be subject to the new HST tax, we regrettably inform you that we are unable to absorb the cost of this sales tax in our green fees for the 2010 season.
This year’s orientation, closing banquet ( prizes for top 15 participants), week #6’s Scramble Tournament & BBQ, as well as weekly prize giveaways will again be included in the registration fees.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We are always open to new ideas to keep us young and fresh.
We look forward to seeing you soon at The Deer Creek Academy.
